There’s nothing we love more than finding genuinely rare vintage handbags when we’re treasure hunting, and we think we struck gold when we found this copper lucite handbag. The 1940s box bag may look like it’s been fashioned from one of the Tin Man’s relatives, but we just adore its quirky appeal! This incredibly rare and highly collectable piece is one of a kind with its metallic shimmer and pearlised shine. We’re looking forward to seeing it have a new lease of life! Metallics are so hot on the runway this season so we think it will be a wonderful occasion bag that will add character and fashion cred to your outfit.
This 1940s handbag measures 23cm by 18cm and is 9cm in depth. It stands on four ball feet and has a cool curved box design. The body of the bag is made from a copper coloured lucite with an ornate etched trim. It fastens with a hinged hook on clasp. The top of the bag has a silver and grey marbled effect and it has a clear hard handle which is 11cm tall. The bag is lined with cream plastic and features one main large compartment. This handbag has a few marks on the lower back and bottom of the bag, but these are mainly out of sight when being worn. There is a very small mark on the front of the bag (possibly ink), but overall it is in good vintage condition.
