With this in mind, we were pretty excited to find this beautiful original vintage 1920s black flapper dress, a timeless classic ready to be brought back to life! This stunning example of a gatsby dress has the classic drop waist shape, with black beaded details and a tasselled hem line. This divine dress is dying to be worn once more, and we think you can’t beat an original when it comes to stand out style.
This vintage black beaded dress is sheer with two thin layers of fabric. The upper layer is beaded in a floral art deco design with black and grey beads. It has a high round neckline, short capped sleeves and a classic drop waist, with a beaded tassel hemline. As it is a delicate fabric, the under layer of the dress has some light damage – it is torn under one armpit, but this is barely noticeable when being worn. As this dress is sheer we would suggest wearing it with a slip underneath.
Measurements – Bust – 38 inches, Waist – 37 inches, Hips – 40 inches, Length – 39 inches. Would fit a size 8-12 depending on how loose you want the style to be.
